Mucho Music Love Mondays 11/7

11/7

Hola people. Wuss happn’n?? Word? I feel it… ok let’s move on because there’s a lot of music I like this week.

I’d like to start off with one of my music boos. He’s got an album coming out soon and I can’t wait to hear it. I’m talkin about Drake and this new song “I’m So Proud of You” is a fav right now. Like, he hit it on the nail with some of these lyrics. Shiet I’m proud of ME too Drake! I didn’t know you knew!! Like, WAHHH!! He understands meeeeeeee……….. Aight I’m over it, but I do like this song. It’s definitely one for the ladies.

Since we’re on Drake there’s another song he’s got out right now that is also one of my favs. He did this one for the West Coast and he must have gotten it right, because when I hear it I can’t stand still. And even though it may have been a bit strategic for acquiring new fans, I’m not mad at him for shoutin out The Bay and Mac Dre. There’s a lot of good music comin from The Bay and they could use some good publicity like that. “The Motto” is a good little banger.

One more involving Drake, but this next song is by the soulful Mary J. Blige called “Mr. Wrong.” They’re comin at us with some realness on this track. I feel like maybe we can all relate to this song, cause we’ve been in a little relationship like this. It feels so right it can’t be wrong, but it is so it never lasts. Ooo Welllp!

“I told my girls you can get iiit!” I love this new song by my music girl crush Beyonce, “Party.” It’s a fun song, not to mention my other music boo J. Cole is in on the mix. The video is drippin with swagoo, because I love the styling/ hair / makeup. They really had fun with this one.

Speaking of parties, the next song explains how I feel a bit about one of my vices. It’s by Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Bruno Mars and it’s called “Young Wild and Free.” It’s a feel-good song, which makes sense considering the title. Listen here. And that’s how we’re livin’.

Alright, we’re half way there. I told you I got a lot of songs I like this week!

This next song is my FAAAVVV in the club. It’s called “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida, and it really does give me a good feeling! This one makes me put my hands up in the air and alllll that. But this video was kinda funny to me, I think Flo Rida thinks he’s Mayweather. Any whoots! Good song.

Keeping with the dance songs, next up is Rihanna with “We Found Love.” Just in case you haven’t seen the video, it’s worth watching. It’s super creative and the styling is dope. I love the song! I’m almost certain she’s talkin about Hollywood when she mentions a “hopeless place” tho.

ASS! ASS! ASS! ASS!.. Sorry, this next song makes me wanna do the booty clap, then break it down with the hammer time and then go stupid like I was in The Bay. Big Sean with “Dance” got that beat freak song right now. That is, it makes me break it down on the dance floor.

If they played this next song while I was on the dance floor I’d break it down too, just in a different way. Wale’s “Lotus Flower Bomb” is the one. First of all I LOOOOVE this fragrance. Every girl has a different scent, so if you like a perfume like Michael Kors, don’t try and switch over now just cause this song is out. They are completely different. That was my mini rant, but perfume gets a little personal with girls. Back to this sexy song. Listen cheeeere.

Aight, I’d done. Like AM/PM Gas Station, there’s too much good stuff. I’d appreciate it if you guys sent me over some music. Different genres would be best! I just share whatever strikes my fancy at the moment.

Mucho Music Love Mondays 9/26

Mucho Music Love Mon 9/26

“We through a party, yea we through – a – party… bitches came over. Yea, we through a party…”

Just wanted to share a few songs that gots me this past week.

This first song is by Bei Major featuring my boo J. Cole, Trouble. I instantly liked this song. I don’t know why, but something about it brought me back to The Bay a little bit. Any whoot, I just downloaded his mixtape so Imma check out what else he’s got.

Next song is off of The Weekends newest mixtape Thursday and it’s called Life of the Party. I love this mixtape, but this song was one of my favs.

All the drama with watching people’s thrones is just about simmering down and I see J.Cole is ready for his moment. I’ve loved J.Cole since I’ve first listened to him, but I knew he wasn’t getting the hype he deserved, because his style and lyrics are just different. I wasn’t extremely impressed with Mr. Nice Watch, it just didn’t grab me, but I really like this song Nobodys Perfect. #coleworld

And finally, this song isn’t new but I haven’t been able to stop singing it for 3 weeks! Ugh, Drake’s Marvin’s Room has me saying “are you drunk right now?” every 30 minutes. All his songs are just so damn catchy. I wish I could stop, but oh well. JoJo’s version aint bad either, I added it here if you haven’t heard it. Chris Brown has a version too, I’m guessing in response to Drakes, but it’s wack. Seems to be  a bit of a triangle chere.

Send me your songs. Whole albums are cool, but I’d rather know the ones’s you specifically like.

Mucho Music Love,

Juelzy G.

The Inspiring Ones #MMLM

The Inspiring Ones

Chello everyone… Damn, It’s Monday.. AGAIN… I’m tired and I had an annoying weekend to say the least. Makes me realize, if it weren’t for music, sometimes I don’t know how I’d get through my day. Imma start this Monday off with a special list of songs I call “The Inspiring Ones.” Just a little list of songs that inspire me to  make every day count the way it should. I’m sure you’ve heard them all before and I’m not sure if you could relate to them the same way I did, but they’re personal choices.

My first song is just that My First Song by Jay Z. Something about this song can just bounce my mentality back to motivation-status despite whatever state it was in prior. The lyrics are just fitting to someone who’s on an everyday hustle. It’s definitely a ‘keep pushin until you’ve reached your goals’ song. “I might even have me a cappuccino!”

The second song is Juicy by Biggie Smalls. The song is like chronicles to how he made it as a successful rapper or what not. He sends a positive message with the chorus. Again, just one of those songs that help you keep pushin.

Next song is more for my spiritual motivation for the day: Damian Marley’s Road to Zion. People are so difficult to deal with sometimes on an everyday basis. It’s important to keep on the right road and not to let people or situations sidetrack you from being a good person.

And last but not least is the song that I truly believe is the reason I got through college. Closer by Goapele is probably known by everyone that’s ever had a dream. College was one for me and I had a precise goal. Since my mind is always goin 100 miles per minute, I used to put this song on in my headphones and take a breather, because it was the only thing that would let me zone out.

That’s all The Inspiring Ones I have for now. Let me know what songs inspire or motivate you so I can share them, because at the end of the day, we all share a common goal do better for ourselves. And it’s important we help each other.

Mucho Music Love Monday 9/12

Mucho Music Love Mondays

Its Mucho Music Love Monday and I want to share my Lil Jams of the Moment. It’s a pretty hip-hop filled list, but it’s cool because there’s a lot of good hip-hop goin’ on. These songs also aren’t on some new ish, but they are songs that make me turn up the volume reflexively. Like all the way turnt up.

First up though is a little R&B action with this dude Miguel and his song Quickie. Like oo weee.. Makes me want a quickie, what else can I say?? He’s being real with his lyrics so nobody can be mad for fallin in love… and who hasn’t felt this way before? We won’t get into it. I just love his whole stilo because it’s o-so groovy. The video is sexy too.

Next up is Big Sean with Marvin & Chardonnay. Something about that squeaking bed beat that gets me. And who doesn’t love Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay??! Plus Big Sean is one of those new artists that I liked automatically. Plain and simply, I was just attracted to his music. This is usually how I like an artist anyways. I don’t get caught up in politics and hype. Based purely off of first attraction, and Big Sean is my new ‘it’.

This next lil jam I have a special liking for. It was just a really fun night with my girls and this song was our theme. I’m talkin about Jay-Z and Kanye West’s That Shit Cray. The beat just makes you wanna pop somethin, specifically your booty, well at least in my case. It’s just the perfect club or car song and one of my favs off the album. This song also introduced a whole saying into the English language. Now everything is “that shit cray” including this song.

Last but not least is Lil Wayne and Drake’s She Will. Wayne has a lot of good lines in this song, “I’m Ray Charles to the bullshit,” “eat her till she cry, call that wine and dine.” And of course my boo Drake has me hanging on every vocal. I wouldn’t, but shiet, he has me thinking maybe I will. Whoops!

Everyone once in a while I’ll feature something super new or super old, callin this my Featured Lil Jam of the Moment. This video is Azad Right with his song I’ll Be Around. I just got put onto him not too long ago and I was pretty much an instant fan. I appreciate a good lyricist and he definitely is it. If you didn’t know, now you know. And make sure to check out his other music as well.

Azad Right

Thats it. If there’s some music you think I should listen to then I’d love to hear it. I don’t always have time to look for it so I’d really appreciate it!

Mucho Love,

Juelzy G.

Mucho Music Love

Mucho Music Love

If there’s one thing I can say, it is that I LOVE music. But then again, that’s like saying I LOVE to breathe, because who doesn’t love music?? A freak of nature, that’s who wouldn’t.. and luckily I’ve never met one of those.

Like damn near everything else in my life I don’t “specialize” in one genre of music. I know there’s some people out there that can tell you every fact, every lyric and every band about a specific genre, but that aint me. I’m forever on that ‘well-rounded’ tip. I’m a little bit of a hip-hop head, some ragga-muffin, a bit of a soul sistah, sometimes I’m a groovy hippie or a psychedelic rocker, once in a blue moon I’m a heart broken country girl, at times I’m an emo punk, a bit of a phunky old schooler, often an R&B late night lover, a sexy Latin music mover and shaker, I’m a little hip on that jazz and blues and on occasion I’m a fist-pumpin house and electro dancer. Yup.. that’s me.

I listen to different songs for different moods, occasions, what have you. I would say it’s the ultimate expression of what’s inside. Communication with your soul even.. I know.. I’m a hippie. I really don’t know what the world would be without music, and I really don’t want to even imagine it to tell you the truth.

I try to keep up with the latest new music from most genres. I always have opinions or just want to share my passion with my readers. If I hear any song or new artist that deserves a mention then I like to share that too.

I’m sure you guys have noticed I often quote lyrics from different songs in my posts if they pertain to the topic I’m talking about. I also post whole songs as well. There’s probably a song about every single topic out there so you’ll find a quote in just about every post. I can’t help it! I told you guys I‘m a bit animated.

I was raised with all sorts of music from the moment I was born. My six older brothers and sisters and my parents definitely deserve the credit for my music influences. Some of them were musicians and DJs and the rest of us just wished we were. I feel fortunate to have been exposed to so many different genres. And also that I can appreciate a good musician, lyricist and beat. At the end of the day, Music isn’t a specific genre… it’s just music. And I’m in love with it.

Hope you guys enjoy my music posts on Mondays. Please feel free to e-mail me music you think is worth a feature.

Mucho Love

Juelzy G.

Ps.

Kinda random, but I’ve always believed that if there was one era I was supposed to be alive in, it was the 60′s and 70′s. I think I would have been front row at Wood Stock and First in line at Studio 54. So this song is pretty appropriate.
